The series has received a lot of flack for basically word-for-word copying MH while incorporating a widely female cast, LGBT characters, and PoC.

Unnecessary and somewhat in poor taste but it's what ever they want to do I suppose. Riding on MH coat tails for fame at the start is kinda lame but like I said, whatever floats their boat.

First of all, we should clear out the facts about it: So what is Porcelain Spiders? ( Taken from the PS wiki) More infos can be found here, here, here and here. (all of them are OOG) Ok, now that this is cleared out....let´s discuss!

Thanks a bunch Tails! Personally, I would have liked to see such an inclusive case in a more unique setting. Unfortunately, like many of the series who remain almost exclusively in-game, it garnered such a major cult following of (mostly) pretty rude people.
Had my experience with it OOG been better, I'm sure I could have enjoyed it much more. But combine that and the complete lack of creativity displayed by the creators in the making of the game, I'd have to agree with Kai that it's in poor taste.

You are right with that and honestly, so far 90% of it really is a almost shot-for-shot remake (the only bigger differences so far are the blog and the behavior of the sidechannel-person), but i think they they propably wanted to use the first half of season 1 of MH to get a similar starting situation to MH and wanna go a different way after a certain point in the first season. (My guess is either when jay meets tim for that interview or when Jay starts to reveal that he has started filming himself). You have to keep in mind that they plan to make a full-fledged ARG out of it, which already means that it will logically take a whole other way in terms of the story than MH had. Come to think of it, it is propably even in hindsight a really interesting idea, because the viewers mostly know about MH, so the creators can play with the expectations of the viewers, who in turn can change the course of the happenings directly, because of the mass of direct interactions that the ARG-Parts will propably have and because the characters of PS will propably make other decisions than the ones made in MH. Also, the creators have already indirectly stated that they wanna give the "minor" characters (so basicly Sarah, Seth, Brian, Amy - and maybe Jessica too?) more importance. I quote: and Damn, this really sounds like i am defending it o.O I´m sorry for that^^

Tails, don't worry about that, it's a discussion x3

I also don't know how I feel about them making it before the original is even done...
